This was a self-initiated demo project aimed at deepening my understanding of Figma. My focus was on crafting thoughtful micro-interactions within a travel booking experience while practicing advanced prototyping techniques.

The project followed a structured design approach to simulate a real-world product design workflow:
Wireframing
I began with low-fidelity wireframes in Figma to establish the structure of the interface, focusing on core components like search, booking, and destination highlights. This helped streamline my thinking before jumping into visuals.
High-Fidelity Design
Once the wireframes were in place, I moved into creating detailed, visually rich UI mockups using Figma. I incorporated clean layouts, vibrant imagery, and travel-themed color schemes to mimic a commercial flight booking experience. Tools like Photoshop and Illustrator were used to polish custom icons, background images, and logo work.
Prototyping with Micro-Interactions
I brought the mockups to life using Figma’s prototyping tools. The main highlight was a flight animation that plays when a user clicks the “Book this flight” CTA—this small motion touch added delight and made the interaction feel more real.
Exploration with Smart Animate & Variables
This project was also my playground for exploring Smart Animate for smooth transitions and Variables for dynamic states, helping simulate features like toggling between round-trip and one-way flights or adjusting filters on destination cards.
Figma Prototype
The final output was a well-structured interactive prototype showcasing essential flows like flight selection and booking. Although only two screens were completed, they were rich in interaction and served as a proof of concept.
Skill Development
Through this project, I strengthened my understanding of Figma’s advanced prototyping capabilities, particularly:
Creating realistic micro-interactions
Using component variants and transitions
Working with variables for smart toggling
Reflection & Next Steps
While the prototype achieved its learning goal, I now plan to revamp the entire website. This means expanding the interface to include more pages like home, search results, booking summary, and profile—bringing a full user journey to life and turning this demo into a more complete case study.
