This 3D sofa model was part of a personal exploration into furniture visualization, focusing on realism and textile detailing. I designed this piece to study soft-surface modeling techniques and challenge myself with tufted upholstery and realistic fabric rendering. The model features a padded, button-tufted backrest and a lift-up seat with concealed storage space—showcasing both design and functionality. From the elegant stitch patterns to the subtle wood grain on the legs, every element was crafted to achieve a refined and believable finish, suitable for modern interior renderings or product visualization scenarios.
Process Notes:
Started with basic blockout shapes and refined into a smooth, curved silhouette using subdivision modeling
Focused on accurate fabric simulation, including wrinkles and soft shadows, using V-Ray displacement and bump maps
Created high-resolution textures to achieve realistic weave and depth on upholstery
Modeled the opening mechanism for the seat lid, adding metal supports and hinge detailing
Rendered multiple camera angles under a three-point light setup for clean presentation
