Tiny-Track is a mobile app designed to help users stay aware of small, frequent expenses like coffees, snacks, and forgotten subscriptions. As an international student managing two currencies, I built this app to make budgeting less intimidating and more emotionally intuitive. I led the end-to-end design process, focusing on accessibility, behavior-driven features, and visual clarity.

Research
I started with qualitative interviews across students, freelancers, and working professionals. Most felt overwhelmed by traditional finance apps which had too many features, too much data, and no real connection to their day-to-day habits. These insights grounded the project around one goal: make tracking small expenses feel quick and human.

Ideation
I used the Double Diamond framework to move from discovery to delivery. I mapped friction points like confusing categories, clunky input steps, and lack of real-time feedback. Through sketching and Crazy 8s exercises, I explored features like smart auto-fill for expense types, gentle budget nudges, and a visual-first approach to data.

Design
I built the UI in Figma, using simple layouts and warm color cues to reduce cognitive load. I created custom icons and illustrations in Illustrator and Photoshop to help users recognize patterns faster. To elevate the experience, I prototyped motion elements in After Effects adding feedback to taps, easing transitions, and guiding the user with subtle movement.

Testing and Iteration
Usability tests with five users helped me fine-tune interaction points. Based on feedback, I simplified button actions, reworked category naming, and added visual feedback to progress states. The goal was always to reduce friction while keeping users aware of their habits.

Final Delivery
The finished prototype includes a one-tap transaction logger, expandable pie charts for insights, and a minimalist savings tracker. Designed with global accessibility in mind, it uses low-complexity visuals and a clean structure to support users regardless of language or financial literacy.
